Pangaea was a supercontinent that occurred around 300 million years ago. It was first theorized by a scientist named Alfred Wegener. He saw that the continents of South America and Africa looked like puzzle pieces, and when on from there to draw the conclusion of Pangaea, illustrated in the picture above. It was all of the major land masses connected together as one giant continent. But over time, the continents drifted apart, which is described as the theory of continental drift, which states that there are convection currents in the mantle, which basically move the continents. Although Pangaea is long gone, one day, millions of years in the future, all the continents will be reunited to create another "Pangaea".
